HOW TO GET TO LJUBLJANA?

BY PLANE:

Ljubljana International Airport Jože Pučnik (Brnik) is situated 23 km northwest of the city. It is connected with all major European cities and airports. The Slovene national air carrier is Adria Airways.

For intercontinental flights we recommend a connecting flight via Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, London or Paris.

Transfers from/to the airport:
Taxi and bus transport from Ljubljana Airport to the city center is available on a regular basis. Bus fares are payable on the buses.

For conference participants booking a room through an online registration system, transfer from Ljubljana Airport to Ljubljana hotels and Ljubljana hotels to Ljubljana Airport will be organized at a special price of €19 per person, one way. This special rate will be valid for pre-bookings only (until May 5, 2008). LOCAL TRANSPORTATION IN LJUBLJANA

Local transport in Ljubljana is provided by the city buses of Ljubljanski potniški promet (LPP), which operate from 5 am to 11 pm. The fare (€1) is a standard one, irrespective of the distance traveled and it is written on the box located next to the driver. You can also pre-buy a plastic token at newsstands and post offices for a lower price (€0,80). Here is the local transport map.

HOW TO GET TO BLED?

Bled is located approximately 60 km from Ljubljana, and 45 km from the national borders with Austria and Italy, with excellent motorway, rail, and air links to Slovenia and the rest of Europe.

The nearest international airport - Jože Pučnik Ljubljana (Brnik) is 36 km away. You can contact the organizers to order a transfer, or arrange it yourself with ZUP Prevozi.

If arriving by car from the direction of Ljubljana, follow directions to Kranj and Jesenice on E61/A2 motorway.

Buses from Ljubljana to Bled are leaving almost every hour from 6.00 till 21.30. Bus schedules are available online at www.ap-ljubljana.si and on the bus stations.

The Lesce-Bled railway station is located 4 km from Bled on the Villach - Jesenice - Ljubljana - Belgrade - Istanbul - Athens railway line. The train schedules are available on the website of Slovene Railways.

Transfers from Ljubljana to Bled and back during the conference will be organized.
