The conference will be held on the premises of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana (FELU). The Faculty of Economics is described as the most contemporary faculty in Slovenia due to its fine purpose-built and well equipped lecture and meeting facilities, computer laboratories, free wireless internet access available in most areas of the faculty, and also due to its academic library, the largest Slovenian academic library for economics and business. With contemporary technological capabilities and functionality, the FELU provides the ideal venue for the 34th Annual Meeting of the European Finance Association.

The University of Ljubljana was established in 1919 on the basis of a long-established pedagogical tradition. Today, it is the most prominent university in Slovenia. With more than 57,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, it is one of the biggest universities on the world scale. A total of 22 faculties, 3 academies of art, and one university college employ approximately 3,700 teaching and research staff, assisted by nearly 600 technical and administrative staff.

Soon after its foundation in 1946 the Faculty of Economics (FELU) became the most influential educational organization in Slovenia. Since its establishment, more than 20,000 students have graduated from the School. Over the years, the FELU has maintained its reputation as a high-quality teaching and research institution with strong links to the business community. It has often played the role of change agent, with significant impact on changing the institutional environment in order to implement the standards of a high quality international business school. Recently the School was awarded the global EQUIS quality accreditation status, which is a result of excellence in all activities: creation of a learning environment, teaching and attention to student development, advising, research, process organization, high level of international involvement, and connections with the business world. Today the FELU is among the best European schools and the University’s largest faculty which occupies part of a spacious suburban campus.

The FELU is a 10 minute car or bus ride from the city’s cultural hub, which includes many interesting sights such as Ljubljana castle, Prešeren Square, Dragon Bridge, the Križanke Summer Theater, Ljubljana’s first skyscraper, and many galleries and museums.
